Garden Environmental Project

We were delighted to welcome pupils from years 3 and 4 at Menston Primary School on Monday 8 July (which was extremely hot!) and Wednesday 10 July 2013 who were undertaking various environmental projects in our Church garden which had been previously agreed with the School.

The children were keen, enthusiastic, well behaved and very polite.  The projects they completed, which were supervised by members of our Church congregation and School staff, included:

  • Wildflower seeding specific parts of the lawn.
  • Building a bug house and hedgehog shelter.
  • Pruning and propagating.
  • Planting.
  • Weeding and sweeping the tennis court - yes, there is a tennis court behind Menston Methodist Church!
  • Tidying the area by the compost bin.
  • Weeding and tidying the area by Cornerstone Cafe.
  • Sweeping and weeding the gravel path.
  • Washing the garden seat.
  • Removing the dead daffodil leaves.

We have been delighted with the fruits of their labours.
