Lake District 2015

October 2015

Once again some members of the Church's long walking group have shared four days away.  After last year's wet weather we hoped for better this time and got it.

We travelled up on Friday and did the Rydal Round on our way to the hotel.  On Saturday we walked into Keswick, climbed Walla Crag enjoying fantastic views of both Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. before descending to Ashness Bridge and a delightful lakeside walk back.  Sunday saw us exploring the lovely Newlands Valley and on our return home on Monday we walked round Brotherswater.  We had more sunshine that day so the views, autumnal colours and reflections were magnificent, as was our journey home through the Dales.  The hotel and food were super.

Added to all the natural beauty was the fun and fellowship we shared.  These friendships have deepened over the years and will surely continue.  We certainly have had the chance to count our blessings.

Some of the group had done the usual Thursday walk the day before so clocked up five days of walking - not bad for a group of 'over ??s'!!  Thanks to everyone for such an enjoyable time.
